Branding and label design for Runcible Cider.
Rob and Kelly McCune
OVERVIEW In 2015, Yondr Studio was commissioned by Rob and Kelly McCune to help brand their family farmhouse cidery, Runcible Cider. The name and imagery surrounding the brand were derived from the poem, The Owl and the Pussycat by Edward Lear—a poem near and dear to Rob and Kelly.
OBJECTIVE The objective was to capture the whimsical and adventurous spirit of Rob and Kelly as reflected in Lear’s poem, while also visually communicating the folklore surrounding the story.
SOLUTION In order to house the story taking place within the brand, a badge shape was utilized. This shape both served as a practical container and an iconic visual that has grown to become a key visual element in the visual identity of the Runcible brand.
With each new cider variety released by Runcible a new tableau is created giving each new cider a visual representation of the story bottled up inside.
